Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Windows Platform Engineer 3/4 to join our team. This position is located in Fairfax, Va.
As the Sr. Engineer, you will drive innovative solutions and work collaboratively with a team of engineers to provide full Windows infrastructure life-cycle engineering. Define technical system requirements, design and develop Windows solutions for the IT enterprise. Tasks may also include: enhancements, upgrades and testing to Windows-based hardware and operating system software; performing technology trade studies, requirements analysis, and proof of concept/prototyping as needed for the engineering and design of IT Services; The candidate will also work closely with application development teams to provide Windows engineering support associated with Sponsor-developed application programs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
·The Microsoft Windows Platform Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, configuring, and optimizing all Windows platform systems on-premises and in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The resource will work in a team environment where teamwork and cross team collaboration with effective communications is important.
·Resolve complex system problems in a heterogeneous Windows client/server and Linux environments.
·Engineer, Maintain, design and administer Windows platforms, which consists of multiple forests, domains, DNS, DHCP, Sites, ADFS.
·Establishing and maintaining Standard baseline Windows builds across the server and desktop platform.
·Develop scripts to automate recurring tasks, reporting, monitoring, etc. (using powershell or other)
·Develop Windows platform upgrade plans, architecture changes and implementation of new components within the environment.
·Assist/Coordinate team projects, architectural changes, software and system upgrades, and implementation of new components within the environment related to Microsoft technologies to include Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) and Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
·Work with and troubleshoot escalated issues from Tier 2 support on all Windows Platforms working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support towards a quick and effective resolution
·Will work with software application deployment team using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to maintain, configure, and deploy packages for Office 365 Pro Plus desktop applications

Basic Qualifications for a level 3 are a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Microsoft Windows platforms. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Basic Qualifications for a level4 are a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and a minimum of 9 years’ experience in Microsoft Windows platforms. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
·Must have a current TS/SCI clearance.
·Expert level understanding of Active Directory & Group Policy Objects.
·Ability to plan, design, configure, and optimize Windows platform systems
·Experience identifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting Windows issues
·Experience usingSystem Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to maintain, configure, and deploy packages
·Excellent at PowerShell scripting for administration, automation of processes, and issue resolution.
·Experience with developing hybrid solutions to bridge on premise Windows platforms and cloud solutions, preferably AWS.
·Knowledge of peripheral systems and protocols, such as Configuration Management, Exchange Online, Azure AD, Email Archiving solutions, Amazon Web Services, Office 365, etc.
·Effective analytical, planning, organizational, problem determination and resolution process skills.
