Northrop Grumman Linux/Windows Engineer 3/4 (Mid-Sr.) - TS/SCI w Poly required in Fairfax, Virginia
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has a requirement for a Middle or Senior LevelWindows/Linux Engineer in Fairfax, Va.
The ideal candidate will provide hands on technical skills, with prior experience developing using one or more of the following technologies: Java / J2EE / Enterprise Java solutions, Oracle, Unix/Linux and/or Windows VM environment. This Engineer will work on the Desktop and Collaboration Branch Team in the configuration, installation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of a Mixed Windows and Linux Environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop applications - in a Unix/Linux and Windows VM environment to ensure performance and data availability using full stack java
Apply required updates and patches, monitor and tune system to achieve optimum performance levels, and provide reports to support metrics collection
This position may require occasional off-hours support.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.
Level 3: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience, a Master's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience, a PhD , or a total of 9 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Level 4: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of experience, a Master's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience, a PhD and a minimum of 4 years of experience, or a total of 13 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI and Polygraph Clearance
Experience with RHEL6/RHEL7 or CentOS6/7
Familiarity with applying CIS lockdowns/DISA STIGs; i.e., mitigating Nessus scan findings or addressing PO&AM findings
Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services for an operational/production environment
4+ years' experience supporting Oracle application and database environments
Experience with MQ, MDB, JMS and other messaging technologies
Experience with MySQL
Experience with managing, working, and updating tickets in a very fast paced environment
Experience with AWS; specifically managing EC2 instances, EBS volumes, creating AMIs, EFS, etc.
Knowledge of Chef, Spacewalk (or Red Hat Satellite server), GIT, YUM, etc.)
Oracle Solaris systems; Sun/Oracle Solaris servers a plus
Experience with LDAP servers on FTS; so experience with LDAP is a plus
Solid experience with Linux VMs on FTS; so experience with VMware is also a plus
Must be a team player, self-motivated, self-starter and a quick learner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong listening skills
Excellent problem solving, analytical skills
