Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer 1. This position will be located at our Technology Services Sector in Emerado, North Dakota (Grand Sky). The qualified candidate will become part of the Northrop Grumman's Engineering, Systems, and Integration (ESI) business unit, offering the opportunity to develop companywide business applications under the Agile Framework using modern tools and architectures.
Roles and Responsibilities
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensures software standards are met.
The successful candidate will need good interpersonal communication skills along with the ability to work in an agile team environment.
Candidate must also be a self-starter with the ability to take on complex and challenging tasks with minimal direction and remain current on emerging technologies trends and insights.
The successful candidate must be able to design and develop web based applications; follow coding standards; testing, troubleshooting and resolving code issues; and working as part of a larger team.
Be completing or has completed their Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution.
Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering,or Computer Engineering.
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Understanding of standard software development practices.
Experience developing and troubleshooting applications.
Experience with unit testing.
Basics of SQL and database design.
Technical certifications that support Software Development
MS-SQL Server Database design and analysis, experience with Entity Framework
Experience with automated testing.
Versioning Control software (i.e. GIT, TFS)
