Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is has an opportunity for an experienced Mission Assurance Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Elkridge, MD.
This position is part of the Factory Quality Team supporting Mission Assurance and Inspection. This position provides quality engineering support for Life Cycle and Sustainment Operations (LCSO) consisting of repairs and production.
Areas of specialization include design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Roles and responsibilities:
Ensures that MA performance and quality conform to established contract and company requirements.
Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to MA level performance, key performance indicator metrics and process metrics.
Provides proactive support to identify potential issues and concerns. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
Interface and support Operation Program Management and Production Control related to LCSO.
Interfaces with MA supplier and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are understood and met.
Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
Support internal assessments and audits.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Provides primary point of contact support Life Cycle Sustainment Organization LCSO Mission Assurance
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Technical field
2 years of relevant technical experience
Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access,)
Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
US Citizenship is required
Experience with SAP
Knowledge of Process Improvement Methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
Understanding of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 standards, audit experience
Familiar with MA and Space processes and systems
Familiar with manufacturing techniques and equipment related LCSO
Active Secret Security Clearance
