What You'll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a qualified senior system engineer to join a Corporate Priority Win (CPW)proposal as the Proposal Systems Engineering Lead based out of El Segundo. This candidate will lead the system engineering technical write-up and cost estimating strategy for the proposal. The candidate will also coordinate with the system engineers of the various product team to ensure the process description as well as our product offering is consistent across the team. The proposal effort is estimated to be 1 year, which would then be followed by a senior systems engineering position in this business area.
Roles and responsibilities can include:
Compiles cost, schedule, and technical SE products that support the proposal in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications.
Coordinates with functional departments the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance data from other programs.
Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts.
Participates in fact-finding meetings and represents SE in proposal stand-up meetings
Participates in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and functional representatives.
Coordination and or generation of task descriptions (TDs) and associated basis of estimates (BOEs)
Application of systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 14 years of Engineering experience, or Master's in STEM discipline with 12 years of Engineering experience, or PhD with 9 years of experience.
Experience writing software or system requirements for sensors (EO/IR, radar, etc.), ground systems, mission planning, avionics or related systems
Experience with requirements database development, management, maintenance experience (e.g. DOORS, Requisite Pro), Trade Studies analysis/development
Experience with MS Windows applications and proficient in the use of MS Office software
Experience in being part of proposal teams.
Active DoD Secret security clearance with a recent (< 5 years) investigation completion date.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with software prototype development
Experience with writing interface definitions
Experience with CAMEO engineering tool
Experience with developing missile defense systems
Active DoD Top Secret or SCI access
