Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an NDI Technician Apprentice to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is an entry level position located in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate must be available to support all shifts including weekends.

The selected candidate will be involved in the NDT Inspection of hardware supporting various aircraft Programs and must have all the necessary classroom training for PT, ET, UT, or RT.

Essential Functions :

  • Have a basic understanding of Non-Destructive Inspection techniques and theories

  • Possess the ability to work in a Team environment under the guidance of a mentor/mentors to learn the necessary techniques and processes for achieving high quality inspection results

  • Completed Level I and II coursework for at least one of the following: PT, ET, UT or RT

The selected candidate for this entry level apprenticeship should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Completed all Level I and II coursework for PT, UT, ET or RT. Candidate must be comfortable in a factory environment and be able to collaborate closely with a multi discipline Engineering Team as well as Manufacturing and Inspection technicians to support day-to-day manufacturing activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Completed all Level I and II coursework for at least one of the following methods: ET, PT, UT or RT

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in NDT/NDI

  • Completion of Level I and Level II coursework in multiple methods ET, PT, UT and RT

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
