Military Aircraft System’s F/A-18 & F-5 Program is seeking a Manager to fulfill functional and IPT responsibilities leading a team of structural analysis engineers under the Post Production Program IPT. The selected candidate will have RAA over all functional responsibilities directing the people, processes, tools and technology, coordinating staffing requirements reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. In addition to the functional responsibilities the candidate must be able to integrate with various functional disciplines to ensure cost, schedule, technical and quality goals are met for the F/A-18 Service Life Assessment Program (SLAP), Service Life Extension Programs (SLEP) IPT, Fleet Support Analysis Tasks, and NGTS IWOs. The selected candidate will serve as Control Account Manager (CAM) for the engineering team, making use of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to manage contract deliverable, forecast cost and schedule performance and draft associated variance analysis.

Responsibilities include the development of program milestones and managing resources to ensure the team achieves cost and schedule targets. A background in risk and issue management is preferred to help optimize tam performance and support potential changes in resource allocations and/or contractual specifications. The selected candidate will support the development of SLAP/SLEP and Fleet Support proposal updates, provide technical oversight of structural analysis packages, serve as the team focal point during technical reviews and help foster a positive relationship with our customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering/Civil Engineering.

  • 7 years applicable Stress/Structural Analysis experience working on military or government projects.

  • Experience in structural analysis together with a combination of technical leadership and management experience in functional environments is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on F/A-18 as Structural/Stress Lead or CAM with prior support of IBRs is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the customer and program management.
