Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Test Conductor – Flight Test Organization (FTO) Aircraft Ship-Side Support Team to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Edwards AFB, CA.

In this role, the selected candidate will be a member of a team of aircraft ship-side support engineers and test conductors. This team is responsible for coordination between the Flight Test maintenance organization and the Flight Test engineering organization. Tasking will include initial troubleshooting support, procedure development and re-test procedure development.

The selected candidate will coordinate support between maintenance leadership team and engineering leadership team. They will be a self-starter that needs little to no direction from leadership to operate in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

This position is 100% on-site at Edwards AFB, CA and for the 3/10 weekend shift (Fri, Sa, Su) .

Key responsibilities:

  • General aircraft knowledge training for new engineering staff to include flight test and ground test engineers

  • Adjudication of desired maintenance procedures and delayed actions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have 12 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in lieu of a degree to include a background in a systems test environment OR an Associate of Science degree AND 10 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in lieu of a degree to include a background in a systems test environment OR a Bachelor’s degree AND 8 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in lieu of a degree to include a background in a systems test environment OR a Master of Science degree AND 6 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in lieu of a degree to include a background in a systems test environment OR a Ph.D. AND 3 years qualifiable related professional/military experience in lieu of a degree to include a background in a systems test environment

  • Experience in a system test environment

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Must be willing and able to work the 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sa, Su)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background working in an aircraft maintenance environment

  • Proficiency in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Common Product Life Cycle Management (CPLM)

  • Experience working in a flight test environment

  • Excellent communications skills

Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
