Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Maintenance Trainer. This position will be located at Edwards AFB or Palmdale, CA. You will perform work at both locations.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Establish and direct a training system and/or conduct classroom and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for the safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores and facilities, according to established procedures.

  • Analyze current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.

  • Write, edit, and sustain materials for technical instruction.

  • Provide assistance and support to all divisions in helping them determine their training needs and develop and conduct their maintenance training programs. Establish and direct the maintenance of a program wide training and qualification record system.

  • Maintain currency in technical developments, technical training, audiovisual techniques, and should be proficient in teaching methodologies. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills are required for the position.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 14 years relevant job experience with a High School diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's degree in (Training Development, Writing, English, or Communications) and 10 years' experience or Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience may also be considered.

  • Experience as a military aircraft maintainer.

  • Experience in aviation maintenance training development, instructing and sustainment.

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate Storyline development suite and Advance Management System or related software.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.

  • A current DoD Secret security clearance.

  • The ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Degree in the field of Education, experience as a training courseware developer using Articulate Storyline.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
