Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Edwards AFB.

Sr Principal Systems Integration SE is expected to apply extensive technical expertise and have full knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering topics at the platform level, as well as systems engineering integration tasks to close-out requirements, interfaces, design, and to ensure mission achievement of the system throughout the product lifecycle. Daily activities include verification and sell-off of system requirements for products, components, and applications across multiple subsystem boundaries. The lead candidate will have experience integrating/operating complex multi-domain aerospace systems. The position will provide expertise to the program through training external as well as internal users as the platform matures and progresses to later stages of its lifecycle. This may include collaboration with design teams for requirements flow down, management, and verification, generating specifications, interface control documents, and conducting engineering trade studies. The candidate will represent the program as the prime technical contact and interact with external personnel on significant technical matters across organizations. Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and team building skills are essential.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master of science Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 4 years of transferable relevant experience

  • Experience in systems architecture, infrastructure, or subsystem design activities

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or Advanced Degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Systems Engineering experience, training, and/or certification

  • Experience in with system or sub-system requirements

  • Experience supporting system design or integration (e.g., crossing sub-systems)

  • Experience in Interface Control Document (ICD) development

  • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance

  • Current active program access

Salary Range: $137,400 - $206,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
