The NASA Range Hawk Programs is looking for a Flight Test Engineer (FTE) 3 to join the team as we move into a new phase of flight test, building up two additional aircraft to meet the demand of a DOD customer. The qualified candidate will be responsible for leading technical aspects of planning, ground and flight test related to the NASA Range Hawk Program; Plan, coordinate, and schedule flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers and aircraft controlling agencies; Evaluate results from flight activities and incorporate "lessons learned" into future test activities. The position is based out of Edwards AFB, CA but will require travel to multiple Northrop Grumman and sub-contractor facilities throughout the country.
Duties include but are not limited to: Executing flight tests as a Test Conductor and Test Director and Mission Director; developing and maintaining flight test support materials and mission flight test profiles; developing and publishing test plans, flight test cards, test schedules and test procedures for air vehicle testing; coordinating with other organizations to ensure safe and effective execution of ground and flight test activities; interface with air vehicle design and analysis functions to develop test and test data requirements; specify test article configurations and coordinate the integration of test modifications with air vehicle engineering and manufacturing organizations; identify and coordinate the availability of test facilities and test ranges with company, subcontractor, and government agencies; establish test planning working groups, plan and conduct flight test readiness reviews, and conduct pre and post-test briefings. Schedule and conduct ground and flight tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures; participate in post-test data evaluation and problem identification and resolution; prepare and publish test summaries and test reports.
BS STEM degree and 5 years of flight test engineering experience.
Requires previous Test Conductor experience.
This position requires a DoD Secret Clearance.
Occasional short term travel to off-site locations, to include overseas may be required.
Experience on the Global Hawk platform as a qualified Test Conductor
Qualified Test Conductor is desired
