Adaptive Optics Associates - Xinetics (AOA Xinetics), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Venture, is currently seeking an Electronic Technician 2 to support Special Programs business activities in East Hartford CT.

AOX excels in a range of applications from adaptive optical systems, deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, and sub-nanometer precision actuators to photonic systems that acquire and process data in real time for a variety of high-availability applications. AOX's market offerings include lightweight passive and active CERAFORMTM and CERAPRINTTM silicon carbide (SiC) optics and precision structures as well as large and small precision opto-mechanical systems supporting electronics and sophisticated controls software.
Reporting to the Special Programs Production Manager, the Electronics Technician 2 will perform routine technical functions related to the support of manufacturing activities such as testing, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance will be readily available from technical staff.
Work from schematics, drawings, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks
Conduct defined engineering tests, collect data as assigned, and utilize routine development or diagnostic equipment
Perform routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications
Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to component level
Associates Degree in Electronics
4 years of electronics technical experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Experience using Oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators, power meters, and similar test apparatus and basic hand tools
Proficient Microsoft Office skills
U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for employment
Occasional domestic/international travel up to 10% of the time
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Cable and Harness experience
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time and work with basic hand tools
