Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking Senior Program Schedule r to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Durham, NC .

The successful candidate will support SSA's Data Center Optimization (DCOI) mandates. This will include providing project management, technical expertise, guidance, and advice in addressing the following DCOI mandates:

  • Develop and report on their data center strategies;

  • Transition to more efficient infrastructure, such as cloud services and inter-agency shared services;

  • Leverage technology advancements to optimize infrastructure;

  • Assess current agency IT infrastructure footprint and engineer technical approaches to consolidation of services, and

  • Engineering and implementation of an inter-agency shared-services model

D escription of Work:

  • Provide technical support for SSA with OMB metric re-engineering and assist SSA with continuously improving their optimization to meet the OMB mandated metrics.

  • Work closely with the SSA data center staff, and others as required, to support various project teams to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of SSA becoming a shared services provider for other federal government agencies.

  • Work closely with SSA to enhance current business processes within the data centers, automating to the extent possible to support DCOI.

  • Work closely with SSA to enhance existing workflows and automate to the extent possible to support DCOI.

  • Support the implementation of a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Tool at both SSA enterprise data centers.

  • Document new procedures and enhance legacy procedures to align globally between all data centers.

  • Work closely with the SSA data center staff, and others as required, to support various project teams to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of SSA becoming a shared services provider for other federal government agencies.

  • Work closely with SSA to map out a plan for the agency to become an on-premise cloud and shared services provider that is compliant with federal mandates and guidelines. Create a business plan and present to SSA management.

  • Work closely with the SSA data center staff, and others as required, to support various project teams to support disaster recovery mechanisms.

  • Work closely with the SSA data center staff, and other systems teams as required, to support efforts to facilitate the discovery, documentation, planning, and migration of specific shadow IT capabilities into the SSA data center fabric.

  • Support all data center consolidation/migration efforts SSA employs.

  • Support all DCOI and DCIM related project management office (PMO) efforts.

  • Facilitating and participating in weekly schedule reviews

  • Providing planning assistance to program managers as needed

  • Coordinating agency objectives with division managers and task monitors

  • Assists in facilitating weekly project status meetings, Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, and project closeout activities.

  • Ability to interface with the client on program management issues relevant to multiple concurrent projects

  • Ability to facilitate project review meetings by preparing and presenting schedule status documentation and identifying risk areas and mitigation strategies

  • Ability to collaborate with team members, multi-task, and adapt to change.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and9 years of experience OR Master's Degree and 10 years of experience. An additional four (4) years of applied experience may be substituted in in lieu of a degree.

  • 7+ years of experience with managing and or supporting engineering project (Federal and private sector)

  • 3+ years of experience engineering and presenting technical briefings on large scale projects

  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office in areas of project management, project scheduling, project planning, project execution, and project closeout.

  • 3+ years working with Senior and Executive Level Management.

  • 3+ years of experience working with ITIL and/or Agile, SDLC and Waterfall.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting large-scale Federal/State projects.

  • 3+ years of experience managing systems engineers on IT architectural design tasks and reviewing against project requirements.

  • 3+ years of experience overseeing the development of technical IT solutions and strategies.

  • 3+ years of experience engineering, implementing, and managing business processes in support of large-scale projects, e.g. migration, consolidation, etc.

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) is required in order to obtain and maintain required Position of Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Project Server 2010 as an administrator is preferred will need to grant user access and build reports/dashboards.

  • Experience working with Federal Agencies, preferably Social Security Administration

  • Experience with large-scale Federal migration/consolidation projects

  • Prior military service is a plus

  • Understanding of Visio
