Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Administrator (Linux/Unix Systems Administrator Lead) to support a large Federal agency. This position will be located in Durham, North Carolina.

Description of Work:

  • Design and maintain the 24x7 UNIX server infrastructures that support several SSA mission critical web-based applications.

  • Maintain the Unix Servers and secure the servers according to the Policy Compliance Management requirements.

  • Provide system and log analysis, performance tuning and monitoring to ensure security for all of the Division's Web servers.

  • Install, develop and maintain scripts and code to support various new system functions in the UNIX intranet and Internet environments.

  • Maintain and support eTrust Access Control for all Divisional Unix user accounts.

  • Maintain and support CA eTrust Directory servers that support the agency wide Directory.

  • Maintain and support virtualization technology using Logical Domain (LDOM) technology.

  • Work with the team and application sponsors to resolve issues that arise in the daily administration of the UNIX environment.

  • Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux v5.5/6.0 Operating System.

  • Knowledge and Skill in automated deployment and configuration tools for RedHat Enterprise Linux.

  • Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux Virtualization Technology.

  • Provide 24x7 pager support to resolve problems when they occur.

  • Provide technical expertise on WebSphere, ColdFusion and iPlanet software with configuration issues on Open Shift platforms.

  • Troubleshoot systems and application problems and facilitate the necessary actions required to correct the problem.

  • Communicate details of the issue, expected resolution, and root cause analysis of issues.

  • Provide technical support during a disaster recovery exercise or in the event of an actual disaster at the either the Primary or Backup Data Center.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 10 years of relevant experience or Master's Degree in a technical field and 8 years of relevant experience.

  • 5 years of experience using RedHat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x Operating System Administration and Platform Support.

  • 2 years of experience using YAML Ansible.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to script within the Linux/Unix Operating System to complete and automatetask-level requirements.

  • Experience with automated deployment and configuration tools for RedHat Enterprise Linux.

  • Experience with analysis, design, testing and maintenance of the REHL Infrastructure.

  • Experience with application development to assist application developers with optimal design solutions for applications residing in the Open Systems Infrastructure.

  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of hosted applications for WebSphere, ColdFusion and iPlanet Application Server.

  • Experience with security infrastructure (e.g., Access Control and Argent).

  • Experience with architectural analysis and technical design alternatives for connecting to Open Systems and mainframe environments.

  • Ability to configure, maintain, and optimize the underlying storage subsystems in support of the Open Systems platform.

  • Ability to administer, optimize, and secure REHL v5.5/6.0 and Virtualization Technology.

  • Ability to administer, optimize, and secure RedHat Enterprise Linux v5.5/6.0.

  • Ability to research problems and contact and escalate issues with other third party hardware and software providers.
