We are seeking a motivated, creative, and energetic Electrical Power Subsystems Engineer to join our team in Dulles, VA .
Roles and Responsibilities :
In this role you will:
Be responsible for the technical understanding of the spacecraft bus and electrical power subsystem as a whole
Be responsible for detailed technical knowledge of various electrical power equipment
Manage the budget and schedule on assigned project
Provide active oversight of assigned technical team and hardware development effort
Apply core EE principals to adapt/improve heritage equipment and features
Prepare proposal costing and technical assessments
Prepare and present technical packages for design reviews
Act as a liaison with program management and various customers
Bachelors Degree in a STEM Discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering) and 14 yrs of experience; OR a Master's Degree with 12 yrs of experience; OR a PhD with 9 yrs of experience
Understanding of the generation, storage, conditioning/regulation, and distribution of electrical power
Must have U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications :
Understanding of analog electronics and various power converter topologies
Ability to work through detailed analyses with minimal oversight
Experience in managing subcontractors and working with government and private sector customers
Design experience - while this is not a circuit design position, knowledge of the process is highly desirable
