Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr Director, Space Customer Engagement & Strategic Accounts to oversee strategic accounts relevant to the Space Systems sector and interface with the Northrop Grumman Corporate government relations team. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, Space Systems, the Sr Director, Space Customer Engagement & Strategic Accounts is responsible for establishing and coordinating customer relationships across Space Force and the service components to foster an in-depth understanding of customer priorities, future planning, requirements, and challenges relevant to the Space Systems' portfolio. This individual will orchestrate and coordinate high level customer interface with all military services and other customer organizations designated by the Vice President. Customer engagement will be accomplished in collaboration with sector and cross-division teams through internal cross-division and external strategy development and outreach.
As part of the Sector Business Development leadership team, the Sr Director, Space Customer Engagement & Strategic Accounts seamlessly collaborates with and supports the Space Systems Sector Business Development organization and leadership, demonstrating consistent impeccable judgment and embodiment of Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. This role is located in Dulles, VA or Falls Church, VA and requires up to 50% travel.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring business development, customer engagement, and mission development activities are carried out in accordance with Government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures and processes.
Coordinating, integrating and synchronizing sector customer engagements and campaign strategies, and facilitating development of new business opportunities within customer markets.
Supporting sector teams in the design, construction and execution of customer analysis plans, strategic customer approach plans, and customer contact plans.
Providing inputs for the development of sector priority programs and pursuits.
Maintain awareness of significant policy, program, budget and legislative initiatives effecting sector goals
Strategic advisor to the Vice President
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent related experience) with 15+ years' experience working directly for or with DoD and Intelligence Community space acquisitions, operations, or policy, including senior level leadership responsibilities and management experience,
Strong understanding of national strategy, military roles and missions, organization, enterprise process and business contacts,
Experience analyzing a broad range of issues and exercise strategic thinking to best influence senior DoD civilian and military decision-makers,
A high level of confidence, integrity and hands on approach to problem solving as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing DoD decision makers, senior management and executives internal and external to the company,
Experience with DoD budget and requirements process, as well as Legislative Branch annual budget and policy process,
Significant understanding of all Executive Branch influencers on the space domain, to include the Executive Office of the President, DoD, Intelligence Community and other stakeholders,
Knowledge of the DoD acquisition and planning/programming processes,
Strong judgment, decision-making skills, flexibility, agility, and political acumen,
Unswerving commitment and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment,
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning, presentation and human relations' skills
Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
Preferred Qualifications - candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Master's degree in business, national security, or other relevant field
Retired Flag/General Officer or Senior Executive
Salary Range: $223,000 - $334,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
