Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to work in our Dulles, VA office.
The selected candidate will serve as the lead financial analyst for a rapidly growing program portfolio. This analyst will be conducting routine analysis at a portfolio level to provide program management, Operating Unit and executive leadership with summaries, trends and insight into the operations & execution environment of these critical programs. This unique role will be primarily performing financial planning & analysis duties but also have an involvement in the understanding of day-to-day program execution; analysis of labor planning, material control and subcontract management across the programs is a key responsibility to provide visibility to portfolio leadership. This analyst will work closely with the program control analysts to understand the status of their programs.
Conducts analyses of program element of cost detail for the portfolio
Performs analyses and prepares reports routinely for program management and portfolio leadershi
Prepares presentations for executive management
Participates in the EAC process with the programs to understand implications to portfolio financials
Participates in the monthly financial forecasting process with the programs to understand assumptions and analyze trends across the portfolio
Support regular ad hoc requests for a variety of program/portfolio analysis
Produce monthly/quarterly executive summaries of various financial matters
6 years of relevant experience in conducting financial analysis in an operations environment and/or business management
Intermediate proficiency in Excel
Experience with financial forecasting and reporting
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Working knowledge of program Estimates at Complete (EAC)
Working understanding of program elements-of-cost; labor, material, subcontracts, etc.
Experience delivering analysis and presentations to management/executive leadership
Experience using Cognos TM1
Active Top Secret Clearance
