Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Business Development (BD) Operations Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Dulles, VA.
The qualified applicant will be responsible for supporting the Civil Space Systems (CSS) Business Unit's Business Development Operations, including the maintenance of an efficiently streamlined operational cadence for the BD organization.
Responsibilities include:
Support the CSS BD Business unit and its Operating Units efforts as detailed below
Proactively manage the BD team’s business cadence; ensure alignment with Div & Sector needs
Explore opportunities to enhance CSS BD operations and reporting using collaboration tools
Develop and execute a team engagement plan to ensure team cohesiveness
Anticipate inputs for reports or briefs based on captured meeting notes/actions, discussions with team and/or customers
Connect with other Operations Manager roles across TSSD and customers to share learning and best practices and trends.
Serve as the Salesforce Administrator, managing BU user accounts, leading virtual training, working data requests, reports, dashboards. Administrator tasks include ensuring all customer contact info, opportunities, notes, gate reviews are up to date.
Coordinate BAP (Business Acquisition Process) defined gate reviews for the early reviews. Must be knowledgeable on BAP, review templates, pursuit schedules.
Develop, track, report, and forecast Business Development Operational Goals and Activities. Collaborate with key business stakeholder units, including financial and strategic planning teams, and ensure alignment on key strategies, deliverables and timelines.
Track, manage and project all aspects of the CSS BD budget which includes budget for staffing, travel, conferences, training and more. Attend budget meetings, identify issues and provide reports as necessary.
Identify and track conferences, type of participation, budget and coordinate with sector and division as required. Ensure post conference reporting completed.
Manage and contribute to the drafting and development of executive caliber deliverables, including but not limited to Board of Directors Reports; Management Reports; BD Operational Goals Reports; Sector Quarterly Reviews; and Pipeline Assessment Reports, Customer engagement reports. Requires advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Manage and coordinate executive-level meetings and pipeline/opportunity reviews, to include coordination with Tactical Space Systems Division, and Sector BD Staff. Requires scheduling meetings, creating, and managing the attendee list, preparing meeting materials, tracking actions from statement to completion, and anticipating participant needs. Interact with senior internal personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
Supporting the development and execution of communication strategies and supporting long range strategic initiatives and campaigns as needed.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, International Studies or related discipline. Six (6) or more years of related experience in business operations or related field.
3 years analytical experience.
Demonstrated hands-on experience developing and running complex quantitative models.
Extended experience with databases, spreadsheets, queries, pivot tables, and financial models.
Proven ability to create, compose and edit written materials, and to consolidate data from multiple sources into concise executive caliber summaries. Superior analytical skills - ability to draw conclusions and actionable recommendations.
Proficiency with Microsoft software portfolio – including experience preparing executive-level power point presentations.
Preferred Qualifications :
Full knowledge of industry and NGC practices and processes.
Knowledge and experience in business plan development, market research and competitive analysis.
Knowledge of Salesforce
Experience in business development, capture, or program management
Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
