Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Under direction of a senior thermal engineer the candidate will perform thermal analysis, design, and/or test of one or more company products. Generally this work is derived from preliminary studies developed by higher graded engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements for materials, structural components, or functional systems.

  • Select applicable analytical data from previous products, determining the technical principles involved, mathematically defining the problem, and computing the engineering characteristics consistent with the specifications, design needs and requirements.

  • Release results as design notes after review by higher graded engineer.

  • Develop original ideas and elaborate on preliminary design concepts.

  • Perform trade studies and design thermal analyses, reviewing with applicable supervisor(s) and other technical groups, and performing modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design.

  • Develop and coordinate the conduct of test programs required to evaluate design work.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • 2 year experience with a Bachelor's Degree (BS) or a Master's Degree

  • Active Top Secret

  • Experience with Thermal Desktop & SINDA or equivalent spacecraft thermal analysis tools.

  • Ability to perform thermal engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and testing of components, subsystems, and spacecraft.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Experience Performing Thermal Vacuum Testing
