The selected manager will be the point of contact for Fault Management and System Autonomy (FMSA) and/or Computer Based Control System (CBCS) staff in the Systems Engineering Services (SES) Systems Engineering (SE) organization located in Dulles, VA. The selected manager will be responsible for managing and supporting personnel assigned to their department (staff size up to 25) who support Civil and National Security Space programs within Tactical Space Systems (TSS). This management role includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees.
In addition, the candidate will be a Systems Engineer or Technical Leader on programs in the Civil & Commercial Satellites and/or National Security Space business area - the split between direct (programs) and indirect is approximately 75%/25%. The candidate will be responsible for FMSA and/or CBCS technical requirements and execution of pre-proposal engineering efforts, proposal development, design and development, design reviews, technical documentation, program implementation, launch and mission operations, and disposal.
The candidate also will perform FMSA and/or technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
•Strong experience in Systems Engineering for mission critical applications.
•Systems or software engineering lead or management experience
•Failure analysis or fault management technical experience
•Mission and/or vehicle systems engineering experience
•Software coding or scripting experience
•Bachelors of Science Degree in Technical Field +5 years of experience, or Masters of Science Degree in technical field +3 years of experience.
•Advanced Technical Degree preferred.
•Space systems or flight software engineering lead or management experience
•Failure analysis or fault management lead or management experience
•Mission operations or space systems integration and test experience
