Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems (TSS) is seeking a highly qualified and energetic technical leader for the position of Manager of Mission Assurance. This position is ideal for a technical manager with a solid track record leading and managing various mission assurance functions.

The position is responsible for developing and implementing processes to ensure mission success of all Tactical Space Systems products. This entails leading and managing various functions to include Mission Assurance Managers/Engineers, Software Assurance, Parts and Materials Engineering, and the Reliability Analysis Laboratory. As a role model and leader, the Mission Assurance Manager will be required to maintain insight of all programs in various phases of execution. Responsibilities include supporting proposal efforts; ensuring appropriate mission assurance processes and resources to support program execution; continually assessing risk and ensuring risks are appropriately mitigated; ensuring cross-program impacts are contained and resolved, and; ensuring the mission readiness of satellite systems prior to launch.

The position is a direct report to the Director, Safety and Mission Assurance and the candidate will interface regularly with Program Managers and other functional leaders within Tactical Space Systems as well as customer representatives. The candidate must communicate effectively through reports, presentations, and in person.




Space System



Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)

  • 10 years' related experience in the aerospace industry

  • 5 years' experience in a mission assurance role

  • 5 years' experience in a management role

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS/MBA - MS (STEM) or a Master's in Business Administration/Management.

  • 5 years' experience in a space system mission assurance role

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Experience with risk management

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience working with a diverse set of internal and external customers
