Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a CAD/Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Under direction of a senior member of the design team the candidate will perform design analysis and test of one or more of thespacecraft systems of subsystems. Performing work supporting preliminary or advanced concepts developed by senior staff and product leads.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work with engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Participate in the creation, review, and maintenance of engineering documentation.

Analyze information in support of trade studies.

Identify test scenarios, conduct tests, and analyze data trends.

Troubleshoot and conduct failure analysis efforts.

Gathers information, makes studies, develops and designs intermediate to complex mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components and/or assemblies.

Develop layouts, performs tolerance stack-up analysis, and details drawings in accordance with engineering standards.

Understand and utilize geometric tolerancing methods to check fit, form, and function.

Determine methods and procedures, and provides guidance to more junior Designers.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • 2 years' experience with a Bachelor's Degree (BS) ora Master's Degree

  • Active TS/SCI

  • Experience with Creating and modifying intermediate to complex CAD models and drawings

  • Previous exposure to creation of layouts and tolerance stacks.

  • Knowledge of executing complex designs of mechanisms and/or electronics, including tooling, gaging, and special test equipment.

  • Understanding of DFA/DFM techniques.

  • Experience working as a member of an IT team, collaborating effectively with an integrated team of customers, vendors, users, and co-workers.

  • Ability to work independently, on a large team, and on concurrent tasks

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
