Northrop Grumman Senior Contracts Manager in Dayton, Ohio

The Senior Contract Manager will handle the coordination of the negotiation, administration, extension, termination, and renegotiations of all standard and nonstandard contracts within the identified customer focus area. Oversees the evaluation of contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations. Ensures communications are maintained for timely contract execution by the parties. Ensures final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations. May direct the planning and participation in training of contract practices and negotiations to company personnel.

This position is the focal point with Northrop Grumman Customer Contracts Organizations at multiple customer locations and is also responsible for interfacing with the other Northrop Grumman Program Contracts and Program Office Leaders, as well as other Northrop Grumman Corporate and Sector Contracts & Pricing Leadership. This position is key for developing, maintaining and modifying Customer interfaces, strengthening contract management processes, procedures and policies which meet company requirements, address Northrop Grumman Contracts Customer concerns and issues. This position will direct and guide the overarching relationship between Northrop Grumman Contracts Customers and Northrop Grumman Program Contracts personnel through coordinated responses on common issues such as UCAs, Funding Issues, sharing information related to Contract Execution/Negotiations strategies, and recommendations for policy changes and common execution strategies.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish a working relationship with each Northrop Grumman program team and their respective customers.

  • Coordinate with the various program leadership teams to ensure unified approaches and strategies for various contract actions have been fully briefed and coordinated prior to any customer engagement.

  • Establish a working relationship with each Contracts customer team to address specific customer concerns regarding Northrop Grumman work products, services, response times, proposal quality, negotiation issues, contracting strategies etc.

  • Coordinate and schedule customer interface meetings in various customer locations to ensure proper coordination and attention is provided to all Northrop Grumman Contracts customers.

  • Attend customer staff meetings, workshops, industry days, special events etc. to address specific customer issues and provide the Northrop Grumman perspective, as well as, recommendations for resolution of specific contracts issues.

  • Establish business rhythms with various leaders within Northrop Grumman and the Contracts Customer teams to provide constructive feedback for various initiatives and engagements.

  • Coordinate with other Northrop Grumman Sectors to share lessons learned and coordinate on any joint initiatives with the Northrop Grumman Contracts Customers.

  • Establish strong, positive, and enduring relationships with all Northrop Grumman Contracts customers.

  • Support the Corporate Pricing & Estimating and Earned Value and Program Control Objectives as appropriate.

  • Lead Corporate Initiatives as identified.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and at least 10 years of proven management or leadership experience in Contracting or Master's degree in Business or related field and at least 8 years of proven management or leadership experience in Contracting.

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree.

  • Proven experience with Wright Patterson AFB.

  • Overall experience in leading large and complex negotiations.

  • Significant experience briefing Senior Leadership and company Executive Management.

  • Ability to develop and deliver strategic vision for the Contracts function.
