Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Mission Apps Release Train Engineer (RTE) based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is accountable for the Agile Release Train (ART) and will facilitate program level processes and execution, drive continuous development, manage risks and escalate impediments while also coaching the associated ART members in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
This position will perform RTE duties and Agile coaching for the Command and Control for Ballistic Missile Defense (C2BMC) Mission Applications Agile Release Train and underlying associated agile teams.
The selected candidate provides alignment, boundaries and constraints on the self-organizing agile teams within the ART.
The RTE will assist their ART and coordinate with other ART RTEs to achieve program technical commitments including achieving schedules and budgets.
The RTE may also be asked to assist with proposal and engineering estimate development.
Candidate will interface with customers and use oral and written skills to develop great working relationships with stakeholders and team members.
RTE is the owner of the ART's processes, process execution, change management and ensures agile processes are executed appropriately and is accountable to the FAMs for ensuring overall program process execution.
RTE collects, analyzes and reports Agile metrics for the ART.
RTE will facilitate agile ceremonies to include Iteration, Retrospective and demonstrations.
The RTE will be accountable to the ART to facilitate removal of impediments, improve communications and provide status within and outside of the ART.
Some travel required to program engineering execution sites to include customer locations.
An active Secret clearance is required.
14 Years with Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field; or 12 years' experience with Master's degree.
Experience in Agile Methodologies
Previous experience as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or other Agile leadership role.
Applicant must have ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing
Strong understanding of The Scrum Guide.
Experience working as a scrum master, product owner or other agile lead in an agile environment.
Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA and/or Version ONE or other Agile management tools.
Experience in decomposing Agile epics and features to user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Agile Certification, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
Experience working SAFe Agile environment.
Agile Coaching experience would be a desired skill.
Project Management and Control Account Management experience.
Automation / software factory pipelines and tool chains.
Previous SW development experience, preferably: Test Driven Development or Behavior Driven Development, Trunk-based development, Automated test and documentation.
Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) experience.
Understanding of end-to-end mission application performance and functionality, and current capabilities.
Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
