Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator. This position will support the Command & Control Ballistic Missile Communications (C2BMC) program. The primary work location is Schriever Air Force Base (AFB), CO.
This position provides critical system administration of the software development and ancillary laboratory environments. Primary responsibilities include operating, maintaining, and managing Linux systems supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, system security, and availability of the Linux environment.
Other responsibilities include:
Responding appropriately to any security incidents discovered in the system or directed by program security
Installing, configuring, monitoring, managing and maintaining all Linux based servers and workstations
Creating and maintaining Linux server documents
Creating and maintaining Linux system administration processes and procedures using Ansible playbooks
Installing, configuring, managing and maintaining all Linux server based applications
Ensuring all Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed including but not limited to, security, applications and Operating System (OS)
Ensuring all Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
Creating, managing and maintaining security groups and user accounts
Monitoring, managing and maintaining storage systems and devices
Creating and maintaining Linux server images
Recommending system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and procedures
Recommending when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT Manager
- Assisting the help desk respond to end users requests/issues if needed
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. May consider an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Must have any of the following active DOD 8570 IAT II certifications (Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
Linux system administration experience
System Security Implementations
Linux shell scripting experience
Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux and Red Hat repository administration
Ansible playbook development and management
An active Secret security clearance and US citizenship required.
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
Multi-Factor Authentication implementation like IPA and ADFS
HP Onboard Administrator configuration/management
Backup and Recovery
Containers and Container Orchestration products.
Linux certifications (Red Hat Certified Expert - RHCE)
