Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO, Roy, UT, or Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What You'll Get To Do:
The individual in this role will be part of the Command and Control (C2) Sub-IPT and serve as a design and integration engineer for electronic hardware components. The scope of work spans requirements, design, development, analysis, laboratory testing, verification, and production of hardware, wire harnesses, and equipment racks.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components.
Develop technical specifications for production.
Mechanical design and analysis of equipment racks and wire harnesses using Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Generate drawing packages and associated electronic data.
Support the fabrication, assembly, and test of hardware, equipment racks, and wire harnesses.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Principal Hardware Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience; 3 years' experience with a Master's degree; or 0 years' experience with a PhD.
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must be ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance as a condition of continued employment
Working knowledge of system testing and integration
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements Certified
Experience performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) against Line Replaceable Units (LRU).
Experience managing component obsolescence, including risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Ability to work with little direct supervision, self-motivated, and self-starting
Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation
Salary Range: $86,300 - $129,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
