This Orbit Analyst/Flight Dynamics Engineer position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and will perform the following functions:
Create software tools for orbit determination, orbit propagation, maneuver generation, and space domain awareness
Develop and maintain a suite of high-fidelity orbital simulation tools
Generate simulated orbital engagements
Integrate external simulation environments into internal simulation environments
Orbit determinations to specify tracking system parameters, define the orbital state, and predict orbital events
Analyses of satellite and constellation access, coverage, lifetime, and additional trade studies
Maneuver planning and optimization analyses
Propellant budgeting analyses, on-orbit fuel requirements, and mission lifetime estimates
Satellite rendezvous and proximity operations planning and analyses
Participation in mission rehearsals to simulate orbital analysis tasks performed in operations
Operational support for orbit transfer and station keeping maneuvers
Additional duties may include requirements development, writing complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports from advanced studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities. May be called on to assist in New Business activities such as conceptual design and analysis for proposals and funded studies and may include authoring sections for both.
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or related field, plus 9 years in satellite astrodynamics analyses (orbit determination, ephemeris generation, perturbation analysis, maneuver planning, and error analysis), mission planning and design.
Understanding of issues in scientific and numerical computing and developing simulations of physical systems.
Strong understanding of physics and mathematics.
Experience with software systems, development environments, or programming languages is required.
Must have US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. with 7 years of experience in satellite astrodynamics analyses (orbit determination, ephemeris generation, perturbation analysis, maneuver planning, and error analysis), mission planning and design.
Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or related field plus 7in satellite astrodynamics analyses (orbit determination, ephemeris generation, perturbation analysis, maneuver planning, and error analysis), mission planning and design.
Strong computing skills with familiarity with Python, Systems Tool Kit (STK), Matlab, TypeScript, C#, C/C++, Fortran.
Experience simulating electro-optical telescopes, radars, and RF sensors.
Experience with Linux/Unix (especially remote computing environments).
Experience developing, training, deploying, and analyzing artificial neural networks (deep learning).
Experience with Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO).
Current or Active Top Secret Clearance.

Salary Range: $95,100 - $142,700
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
