Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) Lead Systems Engineer (SE).
The PARCS Lead SE will support the SMORS program Chief Engineer and be responsible for all technical oversight and direction across the PARCS weapon system orders for sustainment and modifications. Responsibilities include oversight and management of the weapon system technical baseline, technology solutions, designs and implementations, weapon system engineering and performance models in support of Model Based SE (MBSE), system lifecycle considerations, and in-flight (current ongoing) designs and implementations.
The PARCS Lead SE responsibility also includes the role of key technical liaison for the weapon system to all stakeholders, providing insight across engineering.The Lead SE must communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches, findings, and direction. The Lead SE will conduct a weekly Joint Technical Working Group (JTWG) to address weapon system technical issues, such as system and mission technical performance measures, metric trends and analyses, engineering and technical assists, and Emergency and Urgent Depot Level Maintenance actions (EDLM/UDLMs).
The Lead SE will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the PARCS weapon system and must have a working knowledge of ground based phased array radar sensors. The Lead SE must also be able to demonstrate an ability for problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills. Experience in an MBSE program is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations is required.
Bachelor’s in STEM discipline and 9 years of Systems Engineering experience or Master's degree in STEM and 7 years of System Engineering experience
DoD Secret clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
BMEWS/PAVE PAWS systems level comprehensive experience in performance analysis, design, simulation, and requirements verification and validation
Experience with model-based systems engineering
