Northrop Grumman is looking for a System Engineer to join a contract in support of an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) system integration effort. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
The responsibilities of this position are:
Identify solutions to gaps in current systems and software
Mature R&D solutions for evaluation in operational environments using Agile / DevOps practices
Integrate standalone applications into enterprise services
Reviewing and creating ICDs, creating a data dictionary
Working closely with the customer and other companies to understand and document their software architecture
Reviewing and evaluating enterprise system engineering practices and providing recommendations on changes
Defining messaging and services for data transmittal and reception using standards based formats (i.e. JMS, UCI, XML, XSD, JSON, etc)
Successful candidates must be able to work in a dynamic small team environment willing to perform multiple roles on the team, while being flexible to changing needs and demands
9 Years with Bachelors in Science in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math); 7 Years experiencewith Masters; 4 Years experience with Ph.D.
Active Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI
Must have extensive knowledge of the System Engineering Life Cycle and its relationship to other disciplines and functions
Experience working as part of a Software Engineering effort
Ability to guide the analysis of high-level needs and develop a structured and logical approach to refine the need into an integrated set of requirements that leads to a fielded product
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
Ability communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
Proven interaction in a team environment
Excellent communications skills (written and oral) - Ability write and implement engineering plans within a project
Able to represent the organization as a technical point of contact for external personnel and leadership
Experience in Agile and DevOps Practices
Experience in Modeling and Simulation
Knowledge and experience with Unix OS
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment environments and tools
Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel
Experience working in direct support of system operators
Familiarity with Space Systems
Familiarity with Command and Control Systems
Familiarity with Battle Management Systems
