The selected candidate will be a structural engineer working primarily on the ACS program supporting both the shop floor build and analysis work. Might require to travel 10% of the time.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels and self-starter. Candidate must be able to collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, materials and process engineers including technicians.
The candidate will primarily support the ACS program with the opportunity to support other programs in the future
Perform structural analysis (dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis).
Perform structural analysis using finite element modeling with commercial software's such as NX, Femap, Abaqus
Support the shop floor by providing stress analysis to nonconformance items
The analysis will be done on composite materials and metallic structures
This candidate will support material review board (MRB) shop floor and other special projects as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 or more years of experience within the structural engineering function/ or Master degree in a STEM field and 1 year of experience within the structural engineering function
Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Must have the ability to obtain a special program access clearance
Experience in finite element modeling using Nastran, Patran, Femap, Abaqus, and NX
Experience interrogating designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Experience working with Composite Materials
Experience with structural dynamics and loads
A self-starter and able to execute with limited supervision
Experience with internal loads models and dynamics highly preferred.
Preference will be given to degrees in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, and Manufacturing Engineering
Experience working on loads and dynamics models and large scale testing is preferred including support of mechanical testing correlation and report write-up
