Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Manager Production Planning Scheduling 2 to join our team. This position will be supporting Propulsion Systems Division at our Magna, Clearfield or Promontory Utah location.

Selected candidate may be based out of Promontory, UT or Bacchus, UT, however the position will require regular travel and in person time at Bacchus, Promontory, and Clearfield. The selected candidate will be required to be on site every day.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the development, preparation, issuance and control of the company’s master production schedule (MPS) to guide the activities and resources to achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives

  • Owning and driving the master production scheduling process; analyzing customer demand forecasts; collaborating with internal teams to assess and incorporate engineering, materials, inventory, labor resource availability, facilities and capital requirements, and program delivery commitments to deliver a valid and feasible production schedule

  • Measure, monitor and adjust production loads to execute all manufacturing schedules including determining which facility produces which products; partners with internal teams to shift projects based on changing program requirements or production capacity; identify critical path items and track closely in concurrence with Engineering Managers, Program Managers, and Operations Managers

  • Updating, issuing, and presenting Master Project Schedule with status of all department deliverables and completion dates; coordinates regularly with Program Scheduling to update the current Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

  • Advising program management and operations management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.

  • Set, incorporate, and report on scheduling related KPI’s (e.g., adherence, attainment, reschedules)

  • Developing and implementing recovery plans to meet schedule requirements

  • Ensuring MPS and MRP alignment to validate accurate demand signal is being sent to entire supply chain; Sales Order line management in MRP

  • Heavy involvement with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process including Demand Planning, Rough Cut Capacity and Supply Planning, and value stream level SIOP reviews in preparation for presenting the monthly Executive SIOP

  • Organizes and oversees the assigned tasks of department staff; hires and trains employees, provides honest and constructive quarterly connections, handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

  • Performs continuous improvements and other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ work experience OR master’s degree and 3+ years’ experience

  • Relevant experience may be substituted in place for education requiring a high school education plus 9 years of relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of Master scheduling/production scheduling MRP experience (preferably in multiple MRP systems).

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including expertise in Microsoft Excel using advance formulas, pivots, charts, and graphs

  • Familiarity with a mixed-model manufacturing operation

  • US Citizen – Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field

  • Experience with Costpoint, SAP or another MRP system

  • Solid working knowledge and experience of scheduling tools like Primavera or Microsoft Project

  • Ability to look at an overall schedule and identify risks with a critical thinking approach and discuss with supporting departments to develop a resolution

  • Ability to maximize relationships internally and communicate well with others to host meetings on a weekly basis to get information needed to maintain overall schedule

  • Ability to drive change while promoting improvement to the current Master Production Schedule with a focus on real time information

  • Comfortable demonstrating courage to lead with influence in a 360-degree capacity (all levels including peers, subordinates, managers, executives)

  • Experience leading people and obtaining results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $101,500 - $152,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
