The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector, Navigation & Maritime Systems Division (NMSD) Global Supply Chain Team is offering an exciting career opportunity to support and manage the overall supply chain activities for a wide variety of major U.S. Defense Programs as well as programs for International customers.
The Maritime Systems campus, based in historic Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a highly enthusiastic and motivated Supply Chain Planning Analyst (SCPA) to join its team of experienced and diverse Supply Chain professionals. Our GSC employees are not only part of our history as a world leader in Marine Navigation and Integrated Systems Solutions, they continue to provide a bright future by being engaged and making a difference as a strategic representatives of the Program's Integrated Product Team (IPT).
The candidate will be required to work closely with the all functional organizations which make up the IPT, such as Program Management, Contracts, Engineering, Material Finance and Operations.
Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager for the Maritime Systems Operating Unit, the Supply Chain Planning Analyst (SCPA) will have the responsibility to ensure the supply chain program requirements identified during a proposal or execution phases of their program(s) are being fulfilled and addressed. This individual will provide overall support throughout the life of their Program.
Position Role & Responsibilities
Defines and develops material strategy and sourcing activities.
Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using appropriate tools. Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Creates/releases requisitions.
Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
This position may be filled at a level 3 (Principal) or level 4 (Sr. Principal), depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
A Bachelors' degree and minimum 6 years of experience in a related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management); OR a Master's with minimum 4 years of experience in related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management); OR 10+ years of experience in a related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management) in lieu of a degree.
The candidate will be required to work closely with all Functional Areas of our business to assure continuity and consistency in data collection and GSC material status reporting exists.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:
A Bachelors' degree and minimum 10 years of experience in a related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management); OR a Master's with minimum 8 years of experience in related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management); OR 14+ years of experience in a related field (supply chain/contracts/project management/business management) in lieu of a degree.
The candidate will be required to work closely with all Functional Areas of our business to assure continuity and consistency in data collection and GSC material status reporting exists.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
Experience and a technical aptitude for large mechanical hardware or working on complex systems for Department of Defense or commercial high tech products.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the involvement and contributions of global supply chain to the operational success of the organization.
Experience with monitoring suppliers' and managing predictable outcomes. Being able to build a two way trusting relationship based on results, ownership, credibility and responsiveness.
Experience with Program cost account management focused on program financial reporting (Budgeting and ETC/EAC).
Working knowledge of Federal and Defense contracting requirements including FAR and DFARS.
Working understanding of Program Risk and Opportunity Management
Hands-on working knowledge within an environment utilizing an ERP/MRP System (emphasis within a SAP working environment) and an clear understanding of its concepts and strategies.
Proficiency in MS Office suite (emphasis on Excel)
Salary Range: $74,600 - $111,800
Salary Range 2: $92,400 - $138,600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
