Northrop Grumman Principal Project Management in Charlottesville, Virginia

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Management 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Charlottesville, Va.

Roles and responsibilities:

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as the Operations team liaison to program management, engineering, supply chain, customers, planning and other functional groups.

Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

Collaborates with all functional organizations to resolve manufacturing and production issues. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Owns overall budget and schedule responsibility for the manufacturing and production content of assigned projects.

Manages risks and opportunities for Manufacturing scope.

Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, engineering and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other STEM degree, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Communications or other related field plus 6 years (or Master's degree plus 4 years) of progressive experience in manufacturing, engineering, and/or program/project management

Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities as evidenced by prior experience leading a team or project in a production environment.

Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or Control Account Management (CAM) techniques, which include program cost and schedule management.

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply varied technologies.

Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring use of ingenuity, creativity and participation of internal and external customers.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Ability to perform as liaison to the customer for all operations efforts.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six years of demonstrated leadership experience

Experience as an IPT lead, functional lead or OPM

Program/Project Management experience.

Current PMP certification.

Current active Secret clearance or higher
