Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented and motivated individual for our assembly inspection team in Charlottesville, VA. This position will support the inspection function in our Wire Prep assembly area as well as training to support other assembly areas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections on maritime navigation and control units to include a review of the associated product build documentation.
Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
Identify discrepant conditions and generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.
Maintain records of results.
The use of common tooling such as calipers, tape measures and multi meters for inspection will be required for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/equivalent
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
Strong work ethic and good attitude - it should be evident from output of work that the best possible effort was given.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area without needing to be coached or led to the next assignment.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds from cart to table.
Ability to focus and communicate over ambient noise.
Must be available to work overtime as needed.
Ability to work 1st and or 2nd shift
Preferred Qualifications:
AS/BS or higher
IPC 610/620 Workmanship Certification
J-STD-001 Certification
Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications
Ability to read engineering documentation such as drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
Experience in an inspection role.
Salary Range: $31,700 - $52,800
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
