Northrop Grumman Welder 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina
Responsible for ensuring and maintaining high material integrity of iridium items used in crystal growth manufacturing
Blacksmithing activities including cleaning, reshaping, welding, repair, inspection, and overall maintenance of precious metal items of various sizes, mostly crucibles and lids
Maintain complete and accurate records of all processes related to crucible repair and maintenance
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies necessary to keep welding area safe, clean, orderly, and efficient
Participate in lean manufacturing team initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience welding of non-ferrous metals such as gold, aluminum, and iridium
Experience in soldiering and brazing copper
Experience with hydrogen, oxy-acetylene torch, sandblasting, and pneumatic equipment
Effectively use standard hand tools & measuring devices, calipers, rulers, etc.
Must be mechanically inclined and able to lift 50 pounds
Must have computer experience and be able to work effectively with spreadsheets
Associates degree in a technical discipline
Welding Certification (AWS, ASME or equivalent)
3-5 years TIG welding experience
