Northrop Grumman Space Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Northrop Grumman Space System Sector is looking for an experienced PM&P Manager at the Chandler, AZ facility.

The PM&P group supports new and sustaining programs in the area of material design, analysis, testing, and failure investigation and on as-needed technical support. PM&P Manager will be responsible for managing technical, cost, schedule and resources. This position is also responsible for material labs that perform material test and evaluation, as well as material development and allowable testing for space programs.

An expert understanding of materials and basic mechanical engineering principles is required. This includes, but is not limited to, metal and composites and their testing, adhesive bonding principles, testing of materials and principles of mechanical testing. PM&P Manager is considered a technical authority for engineering products and processes owned or generated by PM&P.

This position is required to assure PM&P group is properly staffed, equipped and trained to meet current and future program requirements. Successful candidate will be committed to employee development and engagement, and have the ability to develop and maintain strong teams and the ability to work with and manage a team of diverse technical, educational and experience backgrounds.

Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels for current and future work, and deploying technical performers appropriately. Must be entrepreneurial, and able to communicate the capabilities of PM&P group to customers, both internal and external. Ability to perform budgeting and capital asset planning is preferred.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in a science or engineering discipline is required. MS or an advanced degree is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills including team building, mentoring for career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning and allocation is required.
