Northrop Grumman Mgr Programs 3 in Bellevue, Nebraska

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to join the Systems Engineering, Management, and Sustainment III (SEMS III) program. The purpose of the SEMS III program is to increase effectiveness, reliability, and performance, while reducing total cost of ownership for a variety of classified and unclassified Air Force Weather systems. Northrop Grumman provides systems engineering, software development, and sustainment; 24x7x365 global operational support services; Cyber security; and integrated logistics. The DPM is required to assist the Program Manager in managing cost, schedule, complex program and project tasks, balance multiple competing customer priorities and meet stringent deadlines. The DPM is also responsible for supervising senior staff who support the program. This position is located in Bellevue, NE and reports directly to the Program Manager for the SEMS III program.

The DPM will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure smooth execution of the program. The successful candidate:

†Manages the day-to-day program execution focusing on interaction with the SEMS III program team

†Provides consistent guidance and clarity for program priorities and activities

†Assesses and consolidates overall progress, status, and metrics on the cost, schedule, and performance of the program through communication with the Project Management Office (PMO) and functional leads, and communicates program status and forecast to the Program Manager

†Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, development, and administrative areas

†Supports establishment of key milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program execution challenges and recommends solutions

†Engages in the preparation of program-related meetings, proposals, business plans, performance work statements, and operating budgets

†Supports status briefings for Northrop Grumman leadership and internal/external customers

†Oversees the coordination of the sub-contracting efforts across the program areas working closely with the Global Supply Chain

†Works with the PMO to ensure collaboration between the business and technical execution of the program

Travel, less than 10% of the time, is anticipated for program coordination activities.

Basic Qualifications:

†Bachelor’s degree and Technical and Programmatic leadership experience

†Cost Account Management (CAM) or Project/Program Management Experience

†Demonstrated experience in planning, directing and managing the development, implementation and performance of complex Information Technology systems and software intensive programs

†Demonstrated experience with the management and supervision of employees of various labor categories and skillsets

†Demonstrated experience leading proposal efforts including short turn opportunities

†An active Secret security clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:

†Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

†10+ years leadership and management including hands-on experience supervising teams and managing mid to large scale IT systems and software development efforts

†Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation with ability to manage robust development programs with conflicting priorities and deliverables

†Proven ability to lead dynamic teams comprised of highly skilled geographically dispersed individuals and to lead/manage matrixed teams

†Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the highest level of customers and management

†Strong leadership skills and a track record of building high-performance teams, with a particular focus on employee development, engagement and retention

†Air Force Weather Mission knowledge and customer experience
