Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an experienced Mission Planning Manager to provide leadership to our Global Hawk Mission Planning team at Beale AFB, California and Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. The Mission Planning Manager works closely with the Deputy Site Manager and the Program Manager. Responsible for daily operations of company personnel assigned to the roles of Mission Planning in support of contractual requirements, and program and corporate goals.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Oversee Mission Planners in support of US Air Force Global Hawk operations

  • Provides mission planning, integration, support services, and flight operations services

  • Responsible for ensuring all cost, schedule and technical requirements of assigned mission and projects are coordinated, prepared and accurate

  • Ensure adherence to Northrop Grumman and DS Human Resources policies

  • Act as liaison with both military and company customers/IPTs relating to all mission planning operations

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and career development to all NG employees

  • Maintains close coordination with the program manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in aviation and/or 5 years of aviation management, or an additional 15 years of experience will be considered in-lieu of degree

  • 3+ years of experience with military flight operations

  • Active Top Secret security clearance required with eligibility for SCI

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

  • Must be able to gain base access and acquire a US passport.

  • Extremely proficient in multi-tasking and tracking many program aspects and their progress in CONUS and OCONUS locations

  • In depth familiarity and/or proficiency with Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) mission planning software, Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS), to include Combat Flight Planning Software (CFPS) and FalconView, and/or Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of USAF operational instructions and technical orders

  • Bachelors of Science in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in Global Hawk Operations

  • Previous experience as a High Altitude Long Endurance, UAV/RPA mission planner

  • Military specific aviation experience as a rated pilot, navigator, or weapon system operator
