Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) in Linthicum, Maryland. No security clearance is required to start, but the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate inputs for on orbit status report

  • Generate inputs for PMR (Program Management Review) using Matlab to pull and analyze data

  • Support upgrades of software to work on Windows 10 machines

  • Support anomaly investigations

  • Verify detailed operations of Flight Software and telemetry analysis

  • Learn how operate / verify flight software timing using flight software simulator (software tool) to support building and testing flight software

  • Support modification or development of new tools (Matlab) to pull and analyze data

  • Support hardware/software installation in the field

  • Support software test plan development and documentation

  • Software configuration management

  • Verify software requirements

  • Maintain low and medium trust network hubs (ENTDS and ENTDSL networks)

  • Maintain network compliance as network services change and new services become available

  • Monitor and resolve security audit changes

Basic Qualifications for a Space Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related technical curriculum with 2 years relevant experience (0 years with Master's Degree)

  • Experience developing analysis tools using Matlab

  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Space Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related technical curriculum with5 years relevant experience (3 years with Master's Degree)

  • Experience developing analysis tools using Matlab

  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

  • Experience maintaining computer networks

  • Experience with Space Payload Operation and Support
