Northrop Grumman Electronics Field Engineer 3 in Baltimore, Maryland

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Field Engineering Organization is seeking an experienced Electronics Field Engineer in our Airborne Sensors & Networks Division.

The candidate will support AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) products for airborne radars (F-16 SABR and F-22) at the Baltimore campus initially, and then later at customer's location. This role involves working hands-on to provide engineering support to Northrop Grumman's customers as they integrate and test systems in the field. This position will be based in Baltimore and will require periodic travel and short-term assignments to customer's locations. A future long-term assignment is also possible. Relocation costs to and from the customer's site are covered.

Duties and responsibilities include:

· Electronics troubleshooting of AESA antennas and radar electronics

· Lab testing

· Field Repair support

· Integration & Test support

· Flight Test support

· Field Logistical and administrative support

Candidate must be an effective communicator and possess good organizational skills to manage frequent intra-organizational and customer interaction. Candidate will be sole representative of company in some circumstances so needs to be highly professional and tactful.

Field Bonuses apply to long-term assignments. Overtime may be available.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and 5 years' experience; 3 years' experience with Masters; 0 with PhD. Experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 2-year electronics certification or equivalent military technical training

  • Willingness and ability to take short-term and long-term assignment to customer site(s)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance

  • 6 years specific, complex, progressive, and relevant electronics experience/educations

  • Ability to represent outside department and company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Knowledge of Airborne radars and avionics (i.e., F-16, F-22, F-35)

  • Experience highly desired in the following areas: integration and test techniques; test equipment; customer interaction

  • Familiarity with military base operations and protocols
