Northrop Grumman MATERIAL HANDLER in Azusa, California

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Material Handler. This position will be located at ourAerospace SystemsSector in Azusa, CA.

SUMMARY

Performs functions in Receiving (Dock), Shipping, Inventory Stores (Stockroom) and Property

Administration as detailed below.

WORK PERFORMED

General:

Utilizes motor vehicles, forklifts, cranes, carts, jacks and material handling equipment to load, unload, move or arrange material to insure safe transportation and proper storage. May use computer equipment or automated systems and related software applications to access or input data in the performance of duties. May be responsible for the delivery, pick up, storage and proper handling of hazardous waste/materials from collection and accumulation storage sheds throughout the facility to a centralized hazardous waste storage area, and processing related documentation. May be required to move and replenish liquid nitrogen containers. Performs related and incidental work assignments as directed in the completion of the assigned tasks. Must be able to follow exacting written and verbal instructions. Must possess a valid driver’s license that meets the California Vehicle Code and be certified for forklift operator’s license. Must obtain requited certifications necessary to perform job tasks.

Material Handler will perform movement of property between intra-plant locations, respond to requests for property movement issued by internal customers and assigned by salaried personnel. Pick up property from internal customers for calibration, maintenance, storage or disposition and delivers the equipment to the Equipment management Center (EMC), Metrology Lab, or Property Warehouses. Deliver equipment to internal customers issued from the EMC or storage. Stages property in designated warehouse locations for disposition and disposal. Loads, unloads and operates motor vehicles to deliver property to external locations when required. Performs duties associated with the maintenance of property warehouses. Accesses the Property Management System to obtain or validate data needed in the performance of duties. May assist with property location verifications or searches. May perform duties related to property destruction and disposal requiring the use of hand and small power tools.

Successful candidates must:

  • Have experience with MS Office and email to the extent required to perform job functions.

  • The ability to complete factory and EH&S certifications required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • 2+ years’ experience in material storage, handling and distribution.

  • Basic understanding of good property handling and storage practices.

  • 2+ year experience working with Government property management requirements

  • Experience driving a forklift

  • Ability to manually lift up to50 lbs on occasion

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required. US Citizenship required

  • Valid California Driver’s License is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current DoDSecret Clearance highly desired
