Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, Military and Civil Space Systems is looking for an experienced Processor Architect and Circuit Card designer. Requires knowledge of Electro Optic systems and hardware design for space applications. Will be responsible to supervise and mentor junior engineers. The candidate should have design, procurement, assembly, integration, and test experience in developing and building space qualified image processor electronics. This person will be supporting new business development efforts, system design concepts and trades, processor sizing estimates, circuit card designs, as well as supporting the Next Generation GEO payload program. The candidate will be working out of our Azusa, CA location.
The candidate will be responsible for developing next generation processor architectural designs for potential future space EO/IR payloads. In addition the candidate will be responsible for developing Circuit Card designs and Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layouts for high-speed (SERDES, LVDS, DDR) circuits. Must have circuit design experience with ASICS, FPGAs, hardened SRAMS, DDR memories, Point of Load (POL) converters, and low noise analog circuit design. The candidate will oversee hardware procurement, assembly and integration of circuit cards and electronic boxes, circuit card and box level performance and environmental testing, and requirement sell off.
Bachelor of Science Degree in a S.T.E.M. Field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)and 14 years of technical engineering experienceOR a Master's Degree and 12 years of technical engineering experience Required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Demonstrated experience in developing, building, testing, and fielding space based signal processor systems and circuit card designs.
Skillful in rapid development/demonstration programs.
Broad Experience in several of the following:
Designing Signal processor hardware architectures
Image processing electronics
Mixed-signal integrated circuit card design
low noise analog circuit design
real-time embedded digital design
high speed circuit and I/O design (SERDES, SpaceWire, DDR) , and Space VPX
Understanding of radiation hardened electronics, power distribution systems, Point of Load (PoL) converter designs, control electronics, data compression and modeling, ASIC and FPGA design, VHDL design, embedded multi-core DSP/RISK/ARM processor architecture design, and high speed signal integrity analysis
Familiar with Matlab, Mentor Graphic and/or Altium tools.
Experienced with Hyperlynx andPSpice
Masters of Science and/or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics,
20+ years of technical engineering experience
US Citizen and active DoD Secret or higher security clearance
