Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Manager Software Engineering 1 based out of Aurora, CO.

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are necessary.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Technical contributor or manager in a program role as part of the Aurora Engineering management team.

  • Functional oversight for a team of software engineers of varied disciplines.

  • Staffing and workload forecasting; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.

  • Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and contract maintenance for contractors working in the business area as required.

Please note that the manager position is a 20% part-time position with the remaining 80% being a technical position on a program.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience leading a team of software engineers in software development deliverables and processes

  • High proficiency in problem solving

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.

  • Must be able qualify for and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership

  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle

  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills

  • Active TS/SCI /w Poly security clearance

Salary range for a Manager Software Engineering 1: $111,888-$167,832
