Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems - Spacecraft in Aurora, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Provides technical direction to mission partners and/or subcontractors to ensure the product requirements meet the total system solution
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as expert within the field. Able to communicate effectively at the highest levels
Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs to top management. Ability to design, research, and develop advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
Develops and contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product
Recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work accomplished typically supports long-range strategic goals. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective.
Experience/technical familiarity with Spacecraft Command, Control, Telemetry, and Payloads. Must be experienced in the creation and update of Space to Ground Interface Control Documents and Spacecraft operations.

Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Engineer Systems or a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Systems:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline and 5+ years of related experience, or 3+ years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph
Overall knowledge and understanding of the Space ISR domain
Understanding of Mission Collaboration and Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination
Understanding of the importance of Ground Systems as it applies to the entire mission
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline and 9+ years of related experience, or 7+ years with a Masters; 4+ years with a PhD
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph
Overall knowledge and understanding of the Space ISR domain
Understanding of Mission Collaboration and Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination
Understanding of the importance of Ground Systems as it applies to the entire mission
Preferred Qualifications:
Subject Matter Expert in Systems Enginering and/or Mission Engineering
Knowledge of Intelligence systems/multi-Int concepts
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph
In-depth SIGINT processing experience
Principal Engineer Systems
Salary Minimum: $96,600
Salary Maximum: $144,900
Sr. Principal Engineer Systems
Salary Minimum: $119,784
Salary Maximum: $179,676
