The software developmentteam at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Network Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
As a member of the NEW MOON team, the candidate will be expected to provide technical oversight and execution of assigned engineering tasks as defined by the program. The work to be performed encompasses a number of technical areas including, but not limited to, the following activities:
Site delivery support
Ability to interface and/or act as a representative of the Infrastructure organization, from a Systems Engineering, Network Administration, Network Engineering or System Administration role
Act as a member of the IT&D team during deployments and deliveries
Perform site network changes and installation planning and coordination
Engineering and execution of system modifications focused on infrastructure and networking
Support the transition of Legacy system capabilities to new technical baselines
Trade studies and benchmarks as needed to develop new capabilities
Develop documentation for training, site deliveries, engineering artifacts, and program processes
Provide network and server administration
Travel to operational sites to support installation, system integration, and testing as requested by the program
Contribute to assessments of Requests For Proposal (RFP), Requests For Change (RFC), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and Ceiling Rough Order of Magnitude (CROM)/Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) as directed by the program
Support baseline planning activities
The ideal candidate will be proficient in hardware design, specification of hardware, network proficiency to include design and specification of network configuration (VLANs, gateways, routing principles), and development of hardware drawings (rack elevations, floor plans). The engineer will conduct research and design of information processing hardware, including designing new or modifying existing products, developing technical specifications for production, and analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions. The engineer will be a part of the infrastructure organization on a large software development program, but will also work closely with systems engineering to produce documentation, integration, logistics support, and readiness artifacts.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working under general direction, capable of independently determining and developing approaches to solutions. He or she will also have frequent contact with inter-organizational and outside customers, and may represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelors in Science in a STEM discipline and 9 years of engineering experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD -OR- 4 additional years of Network Engineeringexperience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
Experience with design and specification of network configuration (VLANs, gateways, routing principles)
Experience developing hardware drawings (rack elevations, floor plans), network wiring diagrams
Working knowledge of engineering processes
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly
Ability to identify system architecture, design and operational shortcomings, and make recommendations to address deficient areas
Knowledge of Virtualized Environments (VMware)
Experience working with Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage
Working knowledge of the waterfall and agile software development lifecycles
Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and interface with customers
Experience with the government deployment process for large software and hardware deliveries
Legacy program knowledge
Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor
