The SBIRS team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Mission Payload Engineer based out of Buckley AFB in Aurora, CO.
What you'll get to do:
Monitor and verify multiple ground and spacecraft systems hardware/software configurations and operational performance.
Perform mission event data extraction and analysis, data backups and retrievals and will perform command and control and monitor satellite state-of-health of multiple assets and analyze collected data.
The applicant must have the ability to learn and understand satellite sensor subsystem functions and interfaces.
Timely problem identification and resolution is a must along with the ability to multi-task in a time-critical environment.
Satellite command plan generation and test, telemetry processing, and early on-orbit test experience a plus.
Interface with hardware and software peers and government personnel to accomplish customer's mission.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate to performance or due to business needs.
5 Years with Bachelors in Science, 3 Years with Masters or 6 years of relevant experience in a lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience performing command and control and monitoring satellite state-of health for multiple assets and experience analyzing collected data.
Active Top Secret Security clearance and SCI eligible.
The ability to work and travel between 3 locations in Aurora, CO, Colorado Springs, CO, and Azusa, CA is required.
Have a basic knowledge of SBIRS Sensors and Ground Operations
Candidate must have the ability to develop and implement processes and tools for installation and deployment of products
Can identify causes of operating system/application software problems and determine appropriate solutions
The position requires the ability to work a continuously rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays supporting 24/7 operations
Satellite command plan generation and test, telemetry experience, and early on orbit testing is a plus.
Mission processing experience and performed post event analysis
Understand UNIX command language and can perform basic programming in UNIX or PERL
Experience with MATLAB for the performance of data analysis and sensor performance
Familiar with Satellite Toolkit (STK) software
