Northrop Grumman Mgr Field Engineering Svcs 2 in Aurora, Colorado

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 2, Field Engineering. This position is responsible for management and leadership of multiple technical teams in support of monitoring/repairing system hardware/software and configurations and providing technical guidance to our customers.

Responsibilities will include oversight of day-to-day tasking in support of fielded maintenance and operations, and the successful performance and timely completion of contracted tasks and engineering projects as assigned; providing daily status briefings to the contract logistics services managers and customer leadership; providing initial point-of-contact for all issues related to contractor support and all local technical issues, executing timely problem identification and resolution with the ability to multi-task in a time critical operational environment; directing and supervising locally performed performance analyses, system engineering analyses, and configuration management; providing direction on activities in accordance with organizational goals; motivating team members and facilitating team meetings; building relationships with customers and staff, both technical and non-technical professionals; ensures timely, ethical and accurate time recording/approvals and accomplishes annual performance evaluations. Candidate will be required to work occasional off-shift hours as operational needs dictate.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering/physical science or closely related field and 5+ years' experience in supervisory management or; 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Leadership and management experience supporting satellite operations

  • Strong understanding of satellite systems operations/functions and associated internal and external system interfaces.

  • Active TS/SCI access security clearance

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills working with senior program customers as well as military customers

  • The ability to support work on a military installation in a 24/7 operational environment is a must.

  • Excellent decision making capability, people management skills, and be capable of interfacing with all levels of functional and program management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct recent experience in SBIRS operations at fielded customer sites

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a plus.

  • System Integration experience and knowledge of space ground systems.

  • Familiar with ground communication systems from the architectural level to the field implementationlevel.
