The Software & Digital Technologies team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Software Engineers will work on the development, integration, and maintenance of a unique operationally deployed system. The selected candidate must possess the ability to work as a member of a small, highly skilled team in a dynamic environment and participate in systems design, code development, GUI updates, debugging, and integration and test of modifications/enhancements into the operational baseline. The position also requires an individual with the ability to work on technical challenges and to provide innovative solutions, to include troubleshooting the system, implementation of new capabilities for future versions of the system, and support to test and documentation personnel. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position Responsibilities

Designs, develops, documents, integrates, demonstrates, tests and debugs software applications for mission/resource management problems. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with a diverse team of engineers to create minimum viable products, prototypes, and demonstrations. Ensures software standards are met. Supports software demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders. Supports in the investigation and development of new algorithms. Part of a team to transition prototype software into production software.

Basic Qualifications for the Software Engineer are:

  • Bachelor's degree within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college with 2 years software development experience, 0 Years with Masters

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly

  • Knowledge of Java and Linux

  • Experience with SOA and threaded applications

  • Familiarity with frameworks

  • Agile development experience

Preferred Qualifications for Software Engineer:

  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly

  • Systems engineering experience

  • Experience with Eclipse, Git, Jira, Maven, Subversion, Jenkins, and/or Confluence

  • Independent research and development experience

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, MATLAB, and/or C+- Experience with developing Java web-based applications

  • Cloud development and/or Docker Experience

  • Algorithm development experience

  • Familiarity with space vehicle modeling and/or SV mission management
