Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance Engineer Mid - Sr Level in Atlanta, Georgia

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking an Mission Assurance Engineer level 3 or level 4. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA.

The role of mission assurance is todefine and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the mission assurance program specifications and processes during business acquisition and program startup, and execute throughout the life of the program to ensure mission success of programs

  • Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program in accordance with contractual requirements

  • Directly interface with the Program Manager and MA Manager on matters of quality and customer satisfaction,

  • Participate in Scrum/Planning/DevOps status and planning meetings/events

  • Help program teams transition from a spiral to an agile software development model,

  • Work with program to accurately define, collect, analyze and report quality measures,

  • Employ knowledge of quality models like ISO9000, AS9011, and/or Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®), to gauge the maturity of specific major projects,

  • Provide pro-active risk and opportunity management support to the program and work with stakeholders to appropriately handle the risks through mitigation, acceptance, transfer, or avoidance

  • Assure program compliance with contract requirements

  • Lead causal analysis and resolution where significant problems or risks arise that affect the program's success,

  • Take timely action and work with teams to correct deficiencies,

  • Support program implementation of technical measurement systems,

  • Conduct review tasks such as document and code peer reviews and test witnessing

  • Leverage configuration management tools, database applications and related software development tools

  • Support Business Acquisition Process (BAP) activities and proposals,

  • Monitor and ensure programs maintain positive program health and performance,

  • Provide and assure accurate reporting of program health and performance,

  • Participate in tailoring and guide projects with appropriately sized implementation of the quality management system,

  • Facilitate management and control of the program by utilizing Northrop Grumman's Program Execution Framework (PEF),

  • Provide programs with up-to-date knowledge of NG program management tools including NGPro, the PEF, and Performance Execution Reviews,

  • Facilitate implementation of new MA initiatives or goals from the OU, Division, or Sector,

  • Assess, qualify, monitor, and report on prospective or contracted suppliers,

  • Participate in Supplier Management Teams (SMTs) and Supplier Assessment Management System (SAMS) assessments,

  • Assess product or service requirements and flow down quality and performance requirements to suppliers,

  • Implement and conduct Risk Based Process Evaluations

  • Apply knowledge of continuous improvement approaches, e.g., Six Sigma®, or Lean to implement improvements for the program

Basic Qualifications for Level 3 are:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance/Mission Assurance/Project Management/Engineering experience -OR- Masters and minimum of3 years of Quality Assurance/Mission Assurance/Project Management/Engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated ability in producing written material to present to customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to relay and receive information (i.e.collaboration, presentation and consulting skills)

  • Demonstrated ability to workunder minimal supervision individually or as part of a team

  • Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.

  • Ability to operate in fast paced, geographically distributed, high visibility environment

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint and advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Excel

  • Working knowledge of measurement and statistical analysis

  • Understanding of typical industry standard program metrics

  • Working knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management

  • US Citizenship required

Basic Qualifications for Level 4 are:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years of Quality Assurance/Mission Assurance/Project Management/Engineering experience -OR- Masters and minimum of 7 years of Quality Assurance/Mission Assurance/Project Management/Engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated ability in producing written material to present to customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to relay and receive information (i.e. collaboration, presentation and consulting skills)

  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.

  • Ability to operate in fast paced, geographically distributed, high visibility environment

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems

  • Excellent oral and writing skills relative to the program needs

  • Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team requiring little supervision

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint and advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Excel

  • Working knowledge of measurement and statistical analysis

  • Understanding of typical industry standard program metrics

  • Working knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management

  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Knowledge of Agile engineering and management principles

  • Advanced working experience with the setup and coordination of an Agile development environment

  • Working experience with Health Services, Medicare/Medicaid, Center for Disease Control, or VA Health

  • Working experience with the NG Pro, NGProgram ExecutionReviews and other NG quality processes

  • Working experience with NG Supplier Quality Assurance, including use of SAMS, Sentinel Alert System and/or SAP tools

  • Business Acquisition Process (BAP) experience

  • Lean SixSigma Black Belt

  • Working knowledge of NG policies and procedures
