Roles and Responsibilities :

This position will provide support across immunization communication campaigns, including incorporating current research and theory driven strategies into campaign activities. Assist customer staff with strategic planning, development, and execution of social and digital health messages and activities intended to educate, motivate and engage. Coordinate evaluation of social and digital outreach and identify ways to optimize.

Coordinate campaign and social media outreach on various platforms targeting various audiences; includes fine-tuning plain language messages, associated images, and best platforms

Coordinate evaluation of organic social outreach, including summary visualizations and detailed reports

Provide guidance to staff communicators on planning, executing, evaluating, and enhancing outreach and engagement

Educate staff on best practices and new platforms/opportunities

Identify case studies and work with writers/editors to assemble and present to internal audiences as well as partners/peers

Assure Center follows agency and HHS guidelines for government social media tools and activities

Coordinate tasks performed by social media specialist/tactician

Coordinate editorial calendar

Digital

Apply digital and social strategies to evaluate the impact of various health campaigns' outreach

Work with campaign leads, communicators, and web coordinators to optimize web content so it is mobile friendly, in plain language, and visually engaging

Work with campaign leads, communicators, and web coordinators to streamline edits to existing web elements and improve search engine results as well as user satisfaction

Identify opportunities for optimizing web content linked from social messages (such as Twitter cards) to enhance sharing

Identify and coordinate opportunities to analyze web analytics (such as SiteCatalyst reports) to inform in building or revising web pages that better meet user needs and deliver just-in-time data/answers

Basic Qualifications:

. Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Community/Public Health and 6 years of experience

Expert experience creating public health messages for posting on social media channels, especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Expert experience understanding targeting audiences and identifying appropriate and engaging messages, images and channels

Strong experience using analytic tools for tracking and evaluating social media posts

Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Strong skills in grammar, punctuation, proofreading/editing, knowledge of sentence structure, clarify of written expression

Strong experience with social marketing

Strong experience with health communication

Experience in plain language writing, writing for low health literacy audiences as well as for healthcare and public health professionals

Practical knowledge of Web design, usability, and accessibility as well as information architecture

Practical experience with web analytics tools, such as Adobe Analytics/SiteCatalyst, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics

Demonstration of critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and time management

. Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Community/Public Health or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience.

Experience in managing content needs across an agency the size of CDC.

Experience in the latest Social Media applications including but not limited to, texting/SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and YouTube.
